Virtual get togethers

Virtual get togethers have become commonplace today. The reasons are many and varied. The Covid 19 pandemic has required that people, families, and friends should no longer gather in large groups. Hence the need for virtual get togethers. The plan set forth to create feelings of belonging in colleges (DEI – Diversity – Equity – Inclusion) is poisoning the campuses. Students feel more “alienated” than before.

The covid lockdowns were to stop spreading of germs. With virtual get togethers people can share hospitality and can get together from across the globe. Thus, we have one place where everybody can experience fellowship all at once. “We cry when this is occurring. We smile because it happened.” — Dr. Seuss. Mark Twain quips with his usual wit: “When I was younger I could remember anything, whether it happened or not.”

As of May 2023 While we are not in crisis mode any longer, we can’t let our guard down per WHO, (World Health Organization.) There have been over 1,124,000 deaths in US from confirmed cases. It was deemed the 4th leading cause of death by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. We still do not know China’s role due to lack of cooperation on the issue.

America’s Loneliness Epidemic Surgeon General’s Report: “Being Socially disconnected has a similar mortality impact to smoking up to 15 cigarettes a day.” (Vivek Murthy) Now that Covid-19 is clearly in the rearview mirror his report makes several alarming claims that social isolation is and should be treated as a health problem in the same way as obesity, idleness, smoking, or alcoholism. “Loneliness is far more than just a bad feeling–It harms both individual and societal health.” It is associated with a greater risk of cardio-vasculat disease, dementia, stroke, depression, anxiety and premature death.

Highs and Lows

There is safety in drawing together close in highs and lows. A theology prof at Georgetown U: “What we need for real, tight connectedness is a great hope held in common.” When Jesus came into his public ministry he said “Something big is coming.” That sense was his most important message. People tend to gravitate together when they can share a great hope. End time teaching is best exchanged in small groups of study and shared information. Resources from the Bible can be obtained at MikeBikle.org.

Together is my favorite place to be.

The virtual get together has become the norm of today because as one person states “It is hard to get me to leave my house. I’m prone to that little surge of joy when someone cancels plans. My house is a truly a ‘home’ where the people I love are here.

Sweat pants and socks

I can wear sweatpants and thick socks. There’s a garden, a cat, a comfy couch. “Your house will always be blessed with love, laughter, and friendship if you have a cat.” Robert Heinlein tickles our funny bone in “The Door Into Summer” with cat lore: “While still a kitten, all fluff and buzzes, Pete had worked out a simple philosophy. I was in charge of quarters, rations and weather; he was in charge of everything else.” For quality leggings you can wear anytime anywhere go here:

If I want a snack or drink all I have to do is walk a few feet to the kitchen. Food and water keep us alive, But we yearn for much more. Our hearts are longing for love, life, identity, and purpose. That neediness is a gift from God. To be with others is so necessary to maintain relationships with the people I know and love. Celebrate the cleansing blood of Jesus is Hope with His suggested wine. So the answer is virtual get togethers. Take a break from your electronic devices and go and order some wine here.

Everything happens for a reason

There is a time for every season under heaven. In person get togethers are always the best. The power of Connection. Close relationships are the key to health and happiness. A “table witness” (hospitality) is how the gospel was spread world wide from a 100 mile radius. Today it is still required to encourage one another with the faith in the blood of Jesus/Yeshua, “Our Blessed Hope.” Our healer: Laughter the best medicine. Wine a little, laugh a lot!

Interactions from far and near have become the norm now-a-days on social platforms when live contact is not possible For social interactions with wine and food pairings go here: Also, the new norm in social dress can be found here:

Pets are important as well

Hospitality is a requirement of God and the glue that has held civilization together. When necessary, this is accomplished today on social media platforms virtually. This the way of today and the way we join each other. The take away from the Bible is we have mental pictures that cause us to understand words. Join our Theater of the Mind and come join us today. Proverbs 9:2 She (wisdom) has prepared her bread, she has mixed her wine; she has also prepared her table. Virtual events have become today’s meet and greets for the foreseeable future.

Fellowship

To follow the light of the Bible have it! It is called Konionia – where people can uplift one another in encouragement and prayer. Here you can Laugh a lot, Live well, and Love much. Remember rodeo people, laughter is only second to horseback riding for good health. As always, Jesus said to remember his sacrifice of blood for us with wine!

Update

Since the covid and vax have proved that “they make anything you have worse.” We welcome the University of Colorado Med campus “breakthrough: Walls gone, brains unleashed, cures found, possibilities endless.” The foremost being training the immune system to fight cancer, a known autoimmune disease.”
