Integrity for today’s children is a process. It must be based on truthfulness, righteousness, and honesty. This starts with what we term “engagement” which is key. This all begins with getting their attention and getting them involved in the subject at hand. Begin with movement. Simple, intense exercises are best, followed by marching in place with arm movement. Stretches follow to straighten and give flexibility to the spine. Use the power inside from the Brain down the spinal cord.
Engaging New Students
Representation is termed as metaphors, basic symbols, and interpretive pictures. This will engage the new student with something that they can recognize and relate to.
Integrity. . .
Historians tell us in thinking back to ancient Roman warfare the clattering of hob-nailed shoes was heard for miles ahead warning of the coming army. The army coming today is akin to the Romans but is much more silent. A major starting point is at the southern border where Dr. Seuss can give us tips on understanding our neighbors: “El gato en el sombrero.” The shoes in the armor of Christ tell us that God is of order and peace, not of confusion and chaos.
Processing
No legacy is so rich as honesty. – William Shakespeare Students graduate from schools today with little knowledge and poor critical thinking abilities are unable to recognize lies and deception. Gatto (John Taylor – senior NY researcher) says “Pick up a fifth grade math or rhetoric textbook from 1850 and you’ll see that the texts were pitched then on what would today be considered college level.”
Cat in the Hat
Gato en el sombrero today says “Only 1/3 SAT candidates can solve a mathematics problem requiring several steps in 1980.” Since that date the “dumbing down” students leaving them with a language score below 500 on College Boards -1990.
“You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” — Maya Angelou, American Poet
Corresponding to student students in other nations, 23 million American adults were functionally illiterate–that is, they only possessed the most basic reading, writing, and comprehension skills. Why? Communism. It is quietly carrying out a war against the next generation, using the education system as its weapon. It has been fought in secret –in the schools of our nation, targeting our children who are captive in classrooms. The wagers of the war are using very sophisticated and effective tools.
Detective Sunshine, Art and Constitution cat, specify John Locke’s 9th Amendment to the document to the government creation story. It provides moral guidance for how governments should treat citizens and how citizens should treat each other. “Art like morality begins with a line.” – Benjamin Rush, MD – Christian – American Revolutionary War hero and “Father of the Public Schools in America.” Rush further stated that “without law there is no liberty” as he signed our country’s original founding documents.
Integrity for today’s children is a process. Action comes in many forms with engagement for Today’s Children. This could be by asking questions, responding to visual stimulus, or by group interaction.
Expression in many forms
Expression takes on many forms. It could be looking at someone’s facial expression. Or, maybe a reaction to someone seeing a funny picture. It could also be by raising of hands to answer questions. Teachers today should be very flexible. This is because all students do not learn the same way. Students of today have a much different learning environment than the students of yesterday. “There needs to be a lot more emphasis on what a child can do instead of what he cannot do.” – Dr. Temple Grandin (4-H Alumna) To see the interaction go here: For FREE McGuffy Readers see here:
