Indian Poetry

Native Americans’ battles in poetry

Native American Indian Proverb:

With Indian Poetry we ask ourselves what good things can I do today? When the sun goes down at sunset it will take a part of your life with it.  The glory of early morning is expressed in the Biblical Lamentations 3:22-23 “The Lord’s unfailing love and mercy still continue, Fresh as the morning, as sure as the sunrise.

In Indian Poetry, we see many Poetry inklings- Native Americans of Integrity – The Trail of Tears of the Indian tribes led to a fresh vision in the arts. This is where the tears were used as material for creating powerful art of many kinds of expression.  In “Memory Sack” Joy Harjo speaks of our pack of memories “Slung slack on our backs–We venture into the circle – of destruction – Which is the circle — of creation –and make more.”

POSITIVE POETRY We use positive poetry, we see it as a positive role model for virtue to “be what we see” – (Manifesting goodness) is supported by recent neuroscience discovery that Metaphors are in association area of the somatosensory gyri of the brain in same place as touch and pain. “It is most wise to fill our minds with as many graphic images as possible.” Ps 18:2  Metaphors tell us that in poetry we create a “magic eye” for catching the right image to transfer things to thought in a most delightful and graphic manner.

Poetry and Memory

  Poetry helps develop memory. The Japanese Haiku form is the best to begin with. This form is 5 syllables – 7 syllables – 5 syllables is the beginning pattern for newcomers.

Native American in Contemporary society:  Best Seller on NY Times

With Indian Poetry we are Capturing a situation familiar to many Native Americans. This is shown in the book “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian boy” by Sherman Alexie, a story of a rez boy in the white school world.  The comical tribes and titles he observed brought about our realization of what it would be like to be an Indian.This, being paid-off by the US Calvary for turning Indians in to them. These were the Indians who belonged to the Tribe of Bookworms.  As a lonely Indian boy, he is shown not to be alone in his loneliness. He thus concludes he is better off in the White Man’s world.

Spanish Interaction With Indians

A historical novel about the southwest and the lineage of Indians and the ousted jews of Spain in the 15th Century  “Hidden Star.” This book is by Corinne Joy Brown, US Poet Laureate. It was released in April 2016 and chronicles the story of the descendants of Spanish and Portuguese Jews who fled to the New World. This caused the Spanish colonial settlers of the 15th century to escape the Spanish Inquisition. Their descendants are resurfacing today, reconnecting with Judaism.

Integrity of American Poet Adam Ochsner

Native American Heritage and Influence on Integrity – Adam OchsnerPoet, Historian, Rancher, Teacher

“Honesty of thought and speech of written word is a jewel, and they who curb prejudice and seek honorably to know and speak the truth are the only builders of a better life…” John Galsworthy, Nobel Laureate novelist of World War 1 period whose words best describe Adam Ochsner, a fellow writer and war participant.

Millennials should most enjoy Adam Ochsner, poet of the land, who mourns the disappearance of the small farm, abandoned or swallowed up in mechanized corporate enterprises.  It is this feeling that man and nature are made for each other. This further distanced the gap between them, Resulting in being the worse for man. The land that Adam writes about is the Dakotas.  Ochsner knows its history, its traditions, its beauty, its “progress.” From the wealth of its history he writes of the Indians, the Sioux, and the Cheyenne’s.

Historian knows best…

As a historian Ochsner recalls the legendary names of Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse, Chief Joseph, Red Cloud.  He retells the stories of the massacres at Wounded Knee and Sand Creek, and of the countless other injustices against the Indian by the white man. This also included the “glory-hungry generals, as well as the rest of the white men.

”To tell the truth is to become beautiful, to begin to love yourself, value yourself.  And, that’s political, in its most profound way.”  June Jordan, Caribbean-American poet

Many lessons learned

Lesson learned:  Two sides to every story.  A good strategy is necessary in battles as in accomplishing goals. Don’t make (false) assumptions.

The Trail of Tears and Indian Poetry

There were many trails of tears from the homelands of the Muscogee Creek Nation west, just as there were for the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Seminole and many other tribal nations all over North America- indigenous peoples who were forcibly removed from their homelands by government forces.

Poems Describing Most Famous Battles

by Adam Ochsner

Crazy Horse and Indian Poetry

“Today is a good day to fight,

Today is a good day to die!”

These are the words of Crazy Horse,

This was his battle cry.

Tashunca Witco he was called,

By his tribe, the Oglala Sioux;

From his youth he was ambitious,

Strategic, daring, brave, and true.

He lured Fetterman into ambush

With his troop of eighty men,

Riding out from old Ft. Kearney,

Not a one rode back again.

Chosen as the battle leader

By the chiefs of all the Sioux,

He fought General Crook all day,

Till defeated he withdrew.

Well prepared for Custer’s coming,

He was chief commander then,

In that famous fateful battle,

Victor he was once again.

But that was his last triumph;

Sitting Bull to Canada fled;

Shattered were the warlike Sioux;

Crazy Horse his end soon met.

Surrender to the Whites he did,

So his people could survive;

But when forced to enter jail,

He did resist and lost his life.

Gone he is from earth forever;

But his fame lives more and more;

Out of a mount his statue is carved,

A life of bravery to adore.

Chief Joseph Indian Poetry

Chief Joseph of the Nez Perces,

He hated war and worked for peace;

But soon the Whites forced him to move,

So bloody feuds did soon increase.

They raised horses for a living;

But their range was taken away;

In the valley of Wallowa

They were not allowed to stay.

To the Lapwai reservation

They with their stock agreed to go;

The Whites stole hundreds of their horses

Ere they to their new home could go.

Some Nez Perces then took revenge

Against Chief Joseph’s peaceful will,

To refrain from deeds of bloodshed,

And eighteen settlers they did kill.

The army came to punish them,

The Nez Perces then took to flight;

With Chief Joseph still their leader,

While fleeing they were forced to fight.

Through over thousand mountain miles,

With five hundred souls in all,

In four months of flight and fight,

Many of them in death did fall.

With his well trained Indian cavalry,

Joseph did outsmart the Whites;

And inflicted heavy losses

On them in a dozen fights.

Joseph tried to enter Canada,

Ere the army him could take;

But was caught near the Bear Paw mountains

And away he could not break.

With his people cold and starving,

On a cold October day,

He to General miles, surrendered,

Humbly giving his gun away.

He said, “My people are cold and starving.

They ask me for food and I have none to give,

I have fought; but from where the sun now stands,

Joseph will fight no more, forever.”

He was a brave and noble leader

Of the colorful Nez Perces;

He didn’t allow any scalping

And set women captives free.

General Miles praised him and said,

“He was noble in war and in defeat,

And had to suffer from the Whites

Many ways of foul mistreat.”

Down to Indian Territory

His tribe was taken away;

The wounded, men, women and children,

There through his life they had to stay.

In that then malarial country,

Most of those hapless Nez Perces

And all of Joseph’s children

Their life’s end were soon to see.

A remnant was allowed to come back

With Joseph to northern Washington,

Arriving there when winter came

With little food to live on.

The Sand Creek Massacre

Hatred flared between the reds and whites

For the Cheyenne refused the whites’ demands

To cede most of their hunting ground

And have a road built through their land.

Chivington the white Commander

claimed Indians stole some cattle;

This led on to blood-shed soon

caused by hatred, lies, and tattle.

Black Kettle and White Antelope

agreed for peace talks at Denver.

They were told to camp on Sand Creek,

So were not expecting danger.

Chivington attacked them stealthfully:

Kill and scalp all – Big and small;

He told his men who eagerly obeyed

and tried to kill the Indians all.

Many helpless women and children

And unarmed men were killed outright

Some arme Cheyenne still did survive

By putting up a desperate fight.

Black Kettle’s wife and children were killed

While he managed to get away,

to be killed on the Washita

years later many miles away.

White Antelope refused to run,

was shot to death in front of his lodge,

singing his eath song–“Nothing lives on-

except the earth and the mountains.”

Kit Carson called them cowards and dogs

That killed the unarmed Indians.

The Cheyenne reacted with revenge

and killed many white settlers.

Indian Poetry

There have only been 222 complete sets of The North American Indian Encylopedia that were published. Curtis’s goal was not just to photograph but also to document as much of Native American traditional life as possible. Because of this he documented it before the Indian way of life disappeared.

As the introduction to his first volume in 1907, He wrote “The information that is to be gathered … respecting the mode of life of one of the great races of mankind, must be collected at once or the opportunity will be lost.” Curtis made over 10,000 wax cylinder recordings of Native American language and music. He took over 40,000 photographic images of members of over 80 tribes.

Curtis recorded tribal lore and history, and he described traditional foods, housing, garments, recreation, ceremonies, and funeral customs. He wrote biographical sketches of tribal leaders. In most cases, his material is the only written record in history.[2][13] His work was exhibited at the Rencontres d’Arles festival in France in 1973.

May we all find the way home.
Fanciful illustration of Custer’s Last Stand in 1876.

Custer’s Last Stand As seen in Indian Poetry

General Custer, proud, brave and game,

Boy general of Civil War fame,

Cavalry general in Sheridan’s corps,

Eager for battle and glory evermore,

A reluctant Grant allowed him with Terry

To conquer the Indians in a hurry;

From old Fort Lincoln they started out,

Custer with the Seventh and many a scout.

Terry ordered him to locate the Sioux,k

They wait for him and Gibbon too;

On June twenty-six they were to unite,

Together they would crush the

Sioux’s war might.

Custer found their camp,

many thousand strong,

On the Little Big Horn for miles along;

But didn’t wait for Gibbon and Terry a day,

For the Indians and glory might slip away;

So the seventh alone started the fight

Against overwhelming Indian might.

Custer was warned by his wise old scout

That the well-armed Sioux would wipe him out;

He was warned by Reno of the order from Terry,

To wait for gibbon and not to hurry.

On no! wait for Gibbon another day,

The Sioux and glory would slip away;

But the Sioux were not prepared for flight,

Shrewd Sitting Bull had planned to fight,

He had planned well for Yellow Hair’s fall

With Crazy Horse and the mighty Gall;

They were to avenge Chief Black Kettle’s death

Eight years ago on the Washito yet,

They remembered the Cheyennes’ great despair

on that winter night attack by Yellow Hair;

Together, the Cheyenne and the Sioux,

To protect each other now would be true.

Ready were the chiefs of the Indian race;

Crazy horse, Gall, and Rain in the Face;

White Bull and Bob Tail Horse were there,

Crow King, Two Moons, and Rose Bear.

Custer’s troopers were tired and worn

When they came up to the Little Big Horn;

For they were riding most of the night

The day before that fateful fight.

Custer attacked without delay,

Fearing the Indians would get away;

He divided his force to hold the Sioux—This proved unwise for him to do;

Benteen to the left with the ammunition packs,

Reno to the right the camp to attack.

He would support  Reno by swift descent,

Charging the camp from the other end;

Then he took his force from Reno away—

A grave mistake that bloody day.

Reno advanced to start the fight

Against the Indian camp now in sight;

But a thousand warriors under Gall

Were ready to bring on Reno’s fall;

Of Reno’s men, soon in the fight,

Seven were wounded and eight had died;

So he took refuge among the trees

To hold back the Sioux who came like bees;

To a high bluff on the other side

Of the river he crossed to keep on the fight.

A message to Gall from Iron Cedar

Saved Reno’s men from certain slaughter;

It told Chief Gall of Custer’s descent

To attack the camp on the other end,

So Gall from Reno galloped away

To help bring Custer’s end that day;

While Crazy Horse had gone on ahead

To keep Custer from getting away.

When Custer left Reno, riding north,

Some fifty hostiles galloped around,

Two hundred yards from his own ground;

He ordered his scouts them to pursue.

This the Indian scouts dared not do,

For they thought that it was a decoy

That the Indians often did employ;

Custer, angered, disarmed and sent them away,

This act saved the scouts’ lives that day.

When Custer was north, five miles from Reno

And of Gall’s coming he did not know;

He sent an order, calling Benteen backi,

To come quick with the ammunition packs;

But Benteen couldn’t come back anymore

For the Indians blocked him off evermore;

So off to Reno then he raced

And thereby both of them were saved;

Together they were strong enough

Later to hold the Indians off.

As Custer advanced the camp to attack

A peculiar incident held him back;

Four Cheyenne charging braves that day

Somehow caused him to make delay.

He mistook them for a tricky ruse,

A stratagem Indians oft did use:

This gave time for Crazy Horse and Gall

To come from Reno for Yellow Hair’s fall.

Custer’s charge across the Little Big Horn

Never took place, ‘twas a dream forlorn;

For he ordered his troopers to dismount

When the Indians charged him all around;

From the north came Crazy Horse with the Oglala,

From the south came Gall with the Hunkpapa

And Cheyennes under Two Moons and Bob Tail Horse:

So Custer’s dilemma got worse and worse,

In minutes half of his men lay dead;

But the rest were bravely fighting yet.

The Indians held their fire for a spell

For a reason no one for sure can tell;

Custer then spoke to his remaining men,

Just what he said only they knew then.

The Indians started their final attack

And Custer’s men could not hold them back;

They struggled to reach the top of the hill,

But the Indians circled them ready for the kill.

Doomed Custer’s voice was heard again,

“We are near to the top, stay together men!”

On stormed Crazy Horse with his Oglala

And Gall with the Cheyenne and Hunkpapa,

With howling war cries, moving fast,

The final struggle not long did last;

Angry Squaws on the field came then,

They were doomed to death that hour grave;

But they fought to the end and they all died brave.

Scalping some dead and dying men.

Stripped of their clothing the dead were found;

Buried they were on the battle ground.

So death, together with glory came,

To Custer and his men, all brave and game.

Medicine Man – the healer medicine man chanted and sang and as he sang the song lifted him up into the dance.

As he danced he became the poem he was singing.  He became a transmitter of energy, with poetry, music and dance.

To heal was to be familiar with what destroyed. – Ray Young Bear, Meskwaki poet.

Muskoke Medicine Man, Monahwee, is the grandfather of poet Joy Hargo, He is second Chief of the Creeks. As such, he had a reputation for valor and military skill.,He would have gourds tied around his waist filled with different kinds of herbs for his medicines.  He became Famous by saving the life of a white woman. She had been beaten by her husband in the early 1880’s.

Original Poetry Collection
Stick Man and Poki have a Friend

I have here an Original Poetry Collection. Or, as I like to refer to it, as “Poetry in a Nutshell” — need help facing the impossible? Why not explore the situation with elasticity of the brain? Poetry creates it and plasticity of the brain implements it. (Now talk is of plasticity of the immune system.) Poetry is a powerful universal language that surpasses all others. Its expansive words forms word pictures in the mind. It is most useful today when the chaotic, turbulent times create traumas and tragedies in our lives. From depth to height it sheds truth as a prism refracts light. The poetry of American Nobel Prize-winning poet, Louise Gluck (1943-2023) is a prime example.

As with poetry art can illustrate the things in the head you’d like to get out, but can’t happen right at the moment. Morrisseau, Picasso of the North, lived at a time in Canada when the indigenous people were prevented from practicing their cultures. Although this is a 100 million collection, Morriseau’s main aim was to “heal you with color.”

Gods Light God (Light) wants our lives to reflect Him. Soul balance and Spiritual poise. Original Poetry Collection means Beauty is the essence of ‘poetic mindset’ as it is of nature. – Beauty is the smallest details of creation, in the breath of every living creature – is the key to the essential nature of existence. Photo of humming birds’ wings illuminated by the sun to create a prism effect is just one part of a thrilling collection called “Winged Prism.” Christian Spencer photographer celebrates birds in ‘Birds, Poetry in the Sky.’

The cycle is work to eat to exist Balance in work and life as is in art is key. Balance through wisdom not feelings.

Original Poetry Collection is about Poetry which lifts us to the heights of feeling while practicality lowers us to the reality of doing.

The following words run true to an 1899 paen to imperialism from Kipling -“The White Man’s Burden” – ‘Take up the liberal burden/ Go teach the leftist creed/ Send out your pseudo scholars/ Our captive people need/ The care of justice warriors/ Who will plant the good woke seed.’ Today’s Left has become the thing it hates.

Karl Marx

A main place Karl Marx political thinking started was not Poetry in a Nutshell, but it was started at the Frankfurt School in Germany founded in 1923 at the Goethe University. Then the political thinking moved powerfully into the idealisitic European intellectual strata of writers and artists, subsequently spreading its toxic message into universities. The pure thought of Geothe (bc-before corruption) is encapsulated here in a call for action. “Seize this very minute what you can do or dream you can do, begin it. Only begin and then the mind grows heated. Boldness has genius, power, magic in it. Just begin and then the work will be completed.”

How the corruption began is a matter of history but Geothe himself suggests a reason: “The hardest thing to see is what is in front of your eyes.” Hippocritical disparities stretch to the Wizard of Oz at somewhere over the rainbow in Kansas farms along the Santa Fe Trail.

Common sense with Dr. Seuss

You can think up (Arribo), You can think down (Abajo)! Oh, the thinks you can think of — all around (Redonde). (ADIO)– Above, down, inside out — is the power of life.) There is great possibility in thinking without words and the marvelous plasticity of the brain. “Visual Thinking” advocated by Temple Grandin explains the marvelous plasticity of the brain. Further, Caroline Leaf leaves encouragement for future educators and parents who produced “smart” adults who do not have the skills to live independently.

Helpful actions 1. Relax and refocus the mind in the silence and solitude of nature. RESTORATION.

This can be found outdoors in a place for the mind to work its magic. Say “Yes, Father I believe God, I believe you’re real. I see proof of it in creation.” This is the poetic mindset which produces plasticity of the brain.

Look to the Stars Looking to the stars at night also shows God’s glory on tour in the skies. Physicists, if honest, must admit this. Every inspired thought triggers an electro-chemical reaction in the body activating about 400 billion cells surging with electro-magnetic rays to result in emotions and understanding. Original Poetry Collection shows how the “poetic mindset” produces graphic mental images from words for meditation and healing. Using our Brains Elasticity of the brain occurs from “solar, electro-magnetic charges” of a sort from the light of truth. “Bible is a prism through which the light of truth shines. It is the inerrant word of God. The best way to see God and life clearly is to become acquainted with the full counsel of His written word, the lens of truth.” —Detective Sunshine, Art and Constitution cat.

Look to Nature

Original Poetry Collection

We are wired to trust the senses. We can learn about God from nature. This Original Poetry Collection shows elasticity of the brain with the ‘poetic mindset’. This further enhanced with music is here via technology. Godly poets speak to us through nature and its beauty. POETIC MINDSET With a metaphorical “poetic mindset” poets can easily share truth, thoughts which is light. With strong images -metaphors -another person doesn’t have to work hard to imagine. Metaphors are chief elements of poetry and the Bible. One metaphor is worth 1,000 pictures. God paints pictures in words -images – that help us recall his goodness without using words.

Helen Keller

Blind and deaf Helen Keller offers a strong example of inner visualization, the base for the ‘poetic mindset.’ Light is reflected as truth in the ‘poetic mindset.’ Keller stated: “No one is so blind as one who won’t see.” Create space for an internal vision. Don’t lose your dream. Mark Twain mused “It is hard to see things straight when your imagination is out of focus.”

Poetic Mindset

Helpful actions 2. Recalibrate/ REPAIR your system to receive more of God’s presence in your soul to shed light. Just as each element reacts to light source in a unique way so allow your brain cells to respond to every insight.

More Helpful Actions

When folks visualize poetic images in their ‘poetic mindset’ their brains are in default mode network (DMN) where the same part of the brain is engaged when people remember past events or envision the future. The hippocampus is in play. This part of the brain responsible for emotions, learning and memory is is known to atrophy with age. Stressing abounds as people age and progress toward “forgetfulness” diseases. – Meditators, like those practicing mindfulness to destress, boost their brains’ functioning connections and suffer less from detrimental damage due to shrinkage. Music may also encourage the formation and fortification of connections between nerve cells.

Promoting the Mindset

To promote the enjoyment of meditation, the brain forms a protein BDNR (Brain-derived neurotrophic factor) also known as the brain’s “growth hormone.” You can affect your given DNA with healthy life choices for brain health Go here to relax with music, sunshine and meditation. Meditation has been known to boost brains’ functioning connections and along with B Vitamins ashwaganda is known to protect from detrimental shrinkage. To be able to share this good news and opportunity Go here.

Helpful actions 3. RENEW the mind as in meditation for mindfulness using selected religious poetry to shed light. Just as each element reacts to light source in a unique way so allow your brain cells to respond to every word. Your life is like the morning fog — its here a little while and then its gone. James 4:14. Read the following selections aloud.

Poem: “The Fragile Frog”

Dawn breaks clear and breeze begins –
leans the many grasses –
rolling knolls, valleys green –
moving, it amasses –

moisture up from silent pond,
a vapor freely born –
confusing fogs of dampness, there’s –
another one to warn –

of world’s prideful ignorance,
of want and selfish greed.
Another one oblivious
to warnings he should heed.

Slow and patient hovering,
brings truth so plain to see –
but blindness seizes evil hearts
and there will never be –

changes to the inner soul
that lingers ever past.
Then fades away, the temperate fog –
as time has fleeted fast.

God creates, then man destroys
a life, so visible –
but Jesus comes to heal the sick,
the body, spiritual.

Jesus given for our souls,
our Father still awaits –
while life is like the fragile fog
which quickly dissipates.

‘Earth?’ or ‘all eternity?’
two choices we must weigh –
before the fog has lifted and
life vanishes away. By Louis Gander FOG Fully Rely On God

Flowery Poetry

Some deride “flowery poetry” in general. They fail to capture the essence of survival in our darkening days of no shared light. Picture a flower creeping up from the hard earth, the cement of life. Through brokenness, the flowers bloom and produce new petals. When we picture ourselves as a lotus flower slowly opening and looking to God, we get hope, truth and light. As He speaks through the whirlwind ….. “And after the fire came a gentle whisper” 1 Kings 19:12. Brokenness is God’s requirement for maximum usefulness. God alone knows the possibilities he has placed in each person.

Terms for that deep work of bringing RESTORATION, REPAIR, and RENEWAL, shalom, to the self and world –God’s work. (“The Gospel on the Ground” – Kristi McClelland)

Poem: “Broken Pieces

Poetry in a nutshell

Poem – “You’re Always There For Me”

“Come, little leaves, said the wind one day. Come with me and play.” The metaphorical invitation here gives the setting of fall. When the leaves are off the tree the wind whisks them. Which time is a metaphorical scenario of the end days. It is representative of the fig tree generation and when the trees are representative of people. The Promise

The promise is of the holy spirit to garnish their words with truth – the character of Christ – for becoming fruitful. That is a tree bearing good, delicious fruit is a metaphor God uses for “a good man having something good to say.” – Luke 26:43-44

Only in Neutral -N- can we still our minds to recharge with God. Therefore, Listen up! To receive the outpouring of the Holy Spirit “Be still and know that I am God.” And with all your getting, get understanding. God the poet within us craves the holy hush, the ‘poetic mindset.’
Poetic Mindset
The instructional images known as the three “r’s” are basic for recovery from brokeness: to relax and refocus, recalibrate, and reprogram. Similarly, with the three skills basic to learning – reading, ‘riting, and ‘rithmetic – we recognize all the “r’s” as critical for protecting our mental future and sharing the light (truth and content) of our ‘poetic mindsets’ for understanding.

“Keeping Quiet” – Jon Kabat Zinn, MD

Now we will count to twelve

and we will all keep still.

For once on the face of the earth,

Crisis Poetry

let’s not speak in any language; mimic

let’s stop for one second,

and not move our arms so much.

It would be an exotic moment

without rush, without engines;

we would all be together

in a sudden strangeness.

Fishermen in the cold sea

would not harm whales

and the man gathering salt

would look at his hurt hands.

Those who prepare green wars,

wars with gas, wars with fire,

victories with no survivors,

would put on clean clothes

and walk about with their brothers

in the dark, doing nothing.

What I want should not be confused

with total inactivity.

Life what it is about;

I want no truck with death.

If we were not so single-minded

about keep our lives moving,

and for once could do nothing.

Perhaps the earth can teach us

as when everything seems dead

and later proves to be alive.

Now I’ll count up to twelve

and you keep quiet and I will go.

The poem on “Keeping Quiet” was selected by Jon Kabat Zinn, MD for inclusion at medical centers world wide in his book “The Catastrophe Life.”   Albert Schweitzer, MD, foremost medical missionary to Africa, was quick to note the importance of cats: “Two refuges from misery of life–a cat and music.” This pleases Dr. Seuss’ “Cat in the Hat.” “Bible is a prism through which the light of truth shines. “Poetry often lifts the emotions to the heights of feeling while practicality lowers us to the reality of doing.” Dr. David Jeremiah.

Helpful actions #1. Relax and let your mind wander in focused meditation. This will allow you to be ever mindful of the silence and serene solitude of nature. This the place we can find for our minds to work their magic. Every thought triggers a reaction in the body. This activates about 400 billion cells, resulting in emotions and understanding. “Poetry in a Nutshell” shows how the “poetic mindset” can produce many mental images from words for meditation and healing. Thinking comes from “stimulated charges” from our brains, helping us sort out the light and truth. Thus, we distinguish right from wrong.

Helpful actions #2 Relax the mind for mindfulness using music to shed light on different subjects. This is much like how many elements react to light source. Each in it’s own unique way. So, why not allow your brain cells to respond to every sight and sound in much the same manner?. This process can also be enhanced by adding music.

We are wired to trust our senses. We can learn about God from nature. Thus we offer “Poetry in a Nutshell. Relaxing the brain with the ‘poetic mindset’. This is further enhanced with music is here via our sense of hearing. Godly poets speak to us through nature and all its beauty. With a “poetic mindset” poets can easily share their truth and their thoughts which is a warming light.

Meditation can boost the brains’ functioning. Thus, we suffer less damage to our brains by shrinkage. Music also encourages many connections between our nerve cells. With strong images and words, another person doesn’t have to work hard to imagine such things. Metaphors are used as chief elements of poetry and the Bible. One metaphor is thus worth 1,000 pictures. God paints pictures in word images to help us recall his goodness by the use of mental pictures.

Blind and deaf Helen Keller is a strong example of this, this thing called the ‘poetic mindset.’ Words images become truth in the ‘poetic mindset.’ Keller stated: “No one is so blind as one who cannot see.” Create space for your own internal vision. Don’t lose your dreams. Mark Twain mused “It is hard to see things straight when your imagination is out of focus.”

Poetic Mindset

Helpful Actions #3: Natural supplements may help the brain. When folks visualize poetic images in their ‘poetic mindset’ their brains are in a default mode. Some parts of the brain are engaged while people are remembering past events or even fantasizing about the future. Part of the mind is in play. Part of the brain is responsible for emotions, learning and memory. It is also known to atrophy with age. Stressing abounds as people age and toward “forgetfulness” diseases.

To promote the enjoyment of meditation, the brain forms a protein or “growth hormone.” Thus, You can affect your DNA with healthy life choices for brain health. Go here to relax with music, sunshine and meditation. Meditation is known to boost our brain function by making many more connections. This, along with B Vitamins and ashwaganda is known to protect our brains from shrinkage. To be able to share this good news and opportunity Go here.

Helpful actions # 4. Relax and let your mind wander in healthy meditation. Here you can help your kids learn and prosper and ease your mind by using selected religious poetry to open your horizons. Just as each element reacts to light sources in their own unique way, this, too, will allow your brain to respond to every word. Read the following selections aloud.

The Fragile Frog ( FROG Fully Rely On God )

Dawn breaks clear and breeze begins –
leans the many grasses –
rolling knolls, valleys green –
moving, it amasses –

moisture up from silent pond,
a vapor freely born –
confusing fogs of dampness, there’s –
another one to warn –

of world’s prideful ignorance,
of want and selfish greed.
Another one oblivious
to warnings he should heed.

Slow and patient hovering,
brings truth so plain to see –
but blindness seizes evil hearts
and there will never be –

changes to the inner soul
that lingers ever past.
Then fades away, the temperate fog –
as time has fleeted fast.

God creates, then man destroys
a life, so visible –
but Jesus comes to heal the sick,
the body, spiritual.

Jesus given for our souls,
our Father still awaits –
while life is like the fragile fog
which quickly dissipates.

‘Earth?’ or ‘all eternity?’
two choices we must weigh –
before the fog has lifted and
life vanishes away. By Louis Gander

The Poem “Broken Pieces

Some deride “flowery poetry” in general. They fail to capture the essence of survival in our darkening days of no shared light. Picture a flower creeping up from the hard earth, the cement of life. Through brokenness, the flowers bloom and produce new petals. When we picture ourselves as a lotus flower slowly opening and looking to God we get hope, truth and light. As He speaks through the whirlwind ….. “And after the fire came a gentle whisper” 1 Kings 19:12. Brokenness is God’s requirement for maximum usefulness. God alone knows the possibilities he has placed in each person. “I love my patients. I see God in their faces and forms” – Andrew Taylor Still, MD, DO, Father of electro-magnetic in bodies.

Poetry in a nutshell

Poem -You’re Always There For Me

“Come, little leaves, said the wind one day. Come with me and play.” This invitation gives the setting of fall in our minds. When the leaves are off the tree the wind whisks them. This is a scene much like the end of days. It represents itself much like the fig tree generation where the trees are representative of people. The promise is of the holy spirit to garnish their words with truth – the character of Christ – for becoming fruitful. That is a tree bearing good, delicious fruit is a metaphor God uses for “a good man having something good to say.” – Luke 26:43-44

Only by staying Neutral can we still our minds to recharge with God” word. Therefore, Listen up! To receive the gift of the Holy Spirit “Be still and know that I am God.” And, know that with all your getting, you will get understanding. God the poet within us craves the holy hush, the ‘poetic mindset.’
The images known as the three “r’s” are basic for recovery from brokenness: to relax, recalibrate and reprogram. Similarly, with the three skills basic to learning – reading, ‘riting, and ‘rithmetic. We recognize both of these three “r’s” as critical for protection of our mental future. Thus, we can share the light (truth and content) of our ‘poetic mindsets’ for understanding.

“We’re nearing a brain aging revolution that could transform our life with ‘Poetry in a Nutshell.’ Also, a healing revolution is in site that will include the brain and body. Such was skillfully done with the Rife Generator, an electro-magnetic machine. The Rife Generator is not in common use today in our country. Do a Google search and discover it on your own. Rife is Life.

Relaxation with Music and Poetry

Relaxation with Music and Poetry shows videos below are here to help you unwind after a strenuous day. Beautiful music is the art of the prophets that can calm the agitations of the soul; it is one of the most magnificent and delightful presents God has given us. The power of music evokes lost memory. “Music expresses that which cannot be said of and on which it is impossible to be silent.”–Victor Hugo.

Take time

Although it is hard to stop the cycle of being busy I want to encourage you to make time in your life to be outside in nature. Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better. – Albert Einstein. A walk in the forest will fill your lungs with health — O2 and sunshine. This is stress-reducing for people. The trees give off essential oils which are healing called phytoncides –the volatile organic organic compounds (VOC’s) emitted by trees. These they are visual, olfactory, and some are ingestible.

Among the trees

To just be among the trees and listen to the birds is a quieting place for you. Just being in the stillness of God’s creation reprograms and recalibrates our system to function in such a way that we can receive more of God’s presence in our souls. Forest bathing: an ancient idea for the modern world.

God said he gave us the beauty of his creation — forests- so those without belief have no excuse. Rom 1:20. We are beautiful creatures in his sight also. This is a good reason to take care of the temple (ourselves).

Relaxation can be most effective if you use deep breathing for 20 minutes in a place you can comfortably sit. If you cannot be outdoors enjoy the videos below.

Relaxation with Music and Poetry will provide mental relief from your strenuous and long days.

Forests are places where we can relax and unwind and have been places where we can relax and unwind in nature and become “youthful as the trees.” While we are visiting our forest lands and enjoying the fresh oxygen our experience can be enhanced by going here with a quick snap:

Why not take a cat nap instead of worrying?

STOP. When all else fails take a nap. A good laugh an a long sleep are the two best cures for anything. SMILE. Go On.

 “Cheer Up”

Sure this world is full of trouble

I ain’t said it ain’t.

Poetry and Relaxation

Lord! I’ve had enough and double

Reason for complaint.

Rain and storm have come to fret me

Skies are often gray,

Thorns and brambles have beset me on the road –

But say, if we walk with Jesus, ain’t it fine today? SMILE

More Poetry for Relaxation

For Christians it is a poem for each day!  Always and forever GOD IS IN CONTROL! The Lord, I say, not man, not climate, not governments, bombs or laws; the Creator and His plan will be victorious. Christ will return at the exact moment the Father decreed from the beginning.

The world will fade

At that moment the world will fade to insignificance as we, and all mankind will stand in the unfiltered glory of the Lamb. So however good or bad life is treating you today, look up and thank the Lord. If you are doing well, thank God for His blessings and if you have to look up to see the bottom, look up! Look up and thank Jesus for the opportunity to take the bad with the good and perhaps learn a spiritual lesson to strengthen us.

The Lord wants us to enjoy this life while looking for the sublime beauty of the next.  The last year or so has shown us the hammering boredom of a simple humdrum life of isolation.  This kind of controlled and limited movement is familiar to those who have been unwilling guests of the state correctional system.  But it is not the life God plans for us.

This Psalm expresses how we should greet each new day:

Sing not complain

Relaxation with Music and Poetry helps us sing. “Oh come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! We will come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.” (Psalm 95:1-3 NKJV) Singing unites mind/thoughts and emotions for best health.

If we hold these verses in our heart, hope will bloom.  Stay close to Jesus, things are just getting interesting!

 Maranatha!

Pastor Kurtis

Attitude is important as it is good to remain positive even through the down times in our lives and in the life of our nation.

Let us dare to test God’s resources…..Let us ask Him to kindle in us and keep aflame that passion for the impossible that shall make us delight in it with Him, till the day when we shall see it transformed into a fact.

If the pandemic made you feel the world was so out of control, you can create a world here you can control.  I invite you to challenge any attacks to the frontotemporal lobes of your brain. This way you can recalibrate your body and spirit into the beautiful countryside. Be peaceful as you look out at the wide blue sky and rolling countryside.

You can be led to challenge assaults on your frontotemporal lobes thereby becoming poetically thoughtful with some native American poems. These have historical authenticity to augment your mental associations.

Facts of everyday life for many of us are depression, thyroid problems and low levels of vitamins which can cause cognitive decline.  Its diagnosis is tricky and is commonly associated with stress.  The anxiety of our times often leads to sleep problems.  Consider the most conveniently packaged remedy bran (Brān) and zlem (sleep).   GAMING Gaming – I enjoy gaming and the arts. Football is not a contact sport. It is a collision sport. Dancing is a contact sport. This lets people of faith express the fun and joy that God brings to our lives.  When God connects with His children, there’s a big impact!  Take delight in the work that is “child’s play.”  From testing and tasting new wine with your friends to stalking out new trails as you compose poetry.  Refreshment comes as we connect with each other.  The bigger our circle the more we get to love and learn. This is the positivity that also comes with Brān . Further to complete this meaningful journey I invite you into sort of a play group —a membership into a wine club for healthy fellowship.  And lots more choices to explore.

Religious Poetry

 The mind is complex and each day fields a multitude of thoughts both conscious and unconscious.  Added to these incessant thoughts are surroundings that bombard us with eye-catching distractions.  As the battle rages between Satan and the Lord our main goal is to keep our eyes focused on Father God in heaven lest we continually strike out in life.  Religious Poetry is intended to draw you closer to Peace by focusing on the King of Peace.

Recent studies show 77% of Americans sleep fitfully.  I encourage the you to encounter the peace of God to calm you with Psalm 4:8. By understanding the Nutrients in this PRODUCT:  By understanding the predicament of man today — lack of major nutrients — I also encourage you to successfully navigate the modern day scene and checking out zlem to help with restful sleep.  As you awake to a better performance by spending time with Father God in prayer and scripture I want to alert you to bran a morning product that can help your brain accomplish the positive functions God wills for you.

Religious Poetry for a Broken World

On this page you will find religious poetry, for a broken world. From God’s perspective, we are in the end times where brokenness prevails.  Day in and day out. we’re faced with broken promises, broken people, and a broken world.  Again and again, our needs and expectations fail to be met.  As a result,  frustration triggered can easily tumble us into sin and stress.  The poetry presented causes us to experience plasticity (new neuron synapses to be formed). The still, small voice of God beckons us to push the reset button in our brains. This page contains my own personal thoughts on what God and religion is. If your beliefs are different please choose not to proceed and carry on your own personal beliefs as you see fit.

This is from a collection of poetry from Pastor Kurtis Klinghammer at First Christian Church@ Holly, CO. His favorite writer Robert Heinlein says “How we behave toward cats determines our status in heaven.”

I hope that this page of religious poetry has somehow brought you to a point of understanding your world today.

Online Private School – Non-traditional Alternative

Brain Food Education

Brainfood Education is our Online private school and education and your alternative to traditional and non-traditional education. So, hello and welcome to my blog on why homeschooling is a great idea. Homeschooling has become increasingly popular in recent years, with many parents opting to educate their children at home instead of sending them to traditional schools. In this site, we’ll explore some of the benefits of homeschooling and why it might be the right choice for you and your family.

Encouragement

“Correction does much, but encouragement does more. Help your child become the best version of themselves.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe – Steps for this simple process is outlined here.

Why Homeschooling is a Great Idea

Brain Food Education and Homeschooling has become an increasingly popular option for parents who are seeking a more personalized and effective educational experience for their children. While homeschooling is not without its challenges, there are several compelling reasons why it can be a great idea.

Brain Food Education

One of the primary benefits of Brain Food Education and homeschooling is the ability for parents to tailor their child’s education to their specific needs and interests. Parents can choose the curriculum, the pace of learning, and the teaching methods that work best for their child. This can result in a more engaging and effective learning experience, as children are able to learn at their own pace and in a way that resonates with them.

Another benefit of homeschooling and Brain Food Education is the ability to create a safer and more secure learning environment. Homeschooling provides parents with the ability to protect their children from bullying, peer pressure, and other negative influences that can be present in traditional school settings. This can be especially important for children who may be more vulnerable or who have special needs. Quality literature and basics of communication are available. For example: What do Sand Creek and Red Cloud have in common besides Indian lore from 2 western states? Prairie beauty and great literature.

leader and a fierce fighter. NE the blackness is absolute. Before sunrise the moonless stars sizzle and hum high above the prairie. Down here–stillness. And it’s too dark to see your own boots. Then the light sneaks in, a single gray-scale brushstroke low on the horizon. The next deeper and richer than the last. In town, dawn silhouettes the rooflines and the chimneys across the street an hour before it casts a shadow. Then all at once a new day tangles itself in the trees.” These words are immortalized in the writings of Nebraskan, Willa Cather whose most famed novel “My Antonia” is still studied for its uncluttered prose. She writes with romantic subtlety and complexity of construction.

Victor Hugo

Positivism from theft is hard to come by but writer Victor Hugo did it in his novel “Les Miserables.” He once said “Nothing is more powerful than an idea whose time has come.” See and share the “butterfly effect” here.

Crazy Horse

In the Dakota’s Crazy Horse carved in the mountains of the Dakota Hills is the largest monument face in stone and captures the spirit of the noble Indians as well as does poet Adam Ochsner whose poetry is here. History of the Sand Creek Massacre is still studied today written in poetic form by Ochsner and a new battle site is targeted in the plains of Colorado.

One Inspiring Moment

Brain Food Education also encompasses the great works of classic masters we find the key to overcoming the “futile progress” of technology and find hope for personal and societal survival. Profoundly simple is the key: Holy Moments. You can order here. “No problem can be solved from the same consciousness that created it” was Albert Einstein’s observation. The material consciousness that got us into this mess will not get us out of it.

Online Private School Gives You Freedom

Stolen Youth offers a simple answer to Wokeness: NO. A former public school teacher writes about experience as crossing the Rubicon saying once it was crossed, it was remarkably easy to stay there. “I did not miss, not even for one second, my occasionally idiotic classmates and unimaginative teachers. It was liberating.” The introduction of woke dogmas into schools, businesses, civic life and the media affects the youth. The joiners are those willing to conform to the prevailing spirit in the culture. The rebels are those who decline to go along with the masses. Those who say “thanks, but no thanks” to critical race theory. In “Stolen Youth: How radicals are Erasing Innocence and Indoctrinating a Generation” — Bethany Mandel and Karol Markowicz.

Homeschooling also provides parents with a greater level of flexibility in scheduling and curriculum. Parents can choose when and how their child learns, and can incorporate a wide variety of subjects and activities into their curriculum. This can help children to develop a broad range of skills and interests, and can prepare them for success in a variety of fields.

Brain Food Education

Brain Food Education can foster stronger family relationships and a deeper sense of community. Homeschooling provides opportunities for parents and children to work together, learn together, and form close bonds. This can help to strengthen the family unit and create a supportive and nurturing environment for children to grow and learn.

From a more personalized and effective educational experience to a safer and more supportive learning environment, homeschooling offers many benefits that are worth considering for parents who are seeking a different approach to education.

Flexibility and Personalized Learning With Online Private School

With online private schools, students can work at their own pace and on their own schedule, allowing for greater flexibility and autonomy.

Brain Food Education

In addition, online private schools often offer a wide range of courses and programs that can be tailored to meet the individual needs and interests of students. This can include advanced coursework, specialized programs in areas like STEM or the arts, and individualized support and guidance from teachers and mentors.

Online private schools also offer a level of privacy and security that can be appealing to families who are concerned about the safety and well-being of their children. Students can learn from the comfort and convenience of their own home, without the distractions and pressures that can come with traditional school settings.

Relief from Deception

Brave Books series leads kids to real American values that endure — where parents are equipped to have enjoyable, intentional conversations about topics that matter.  See pic  in phone message “More Than Sports and Stripes” a race story to beat a set of deceptive ideas about critical race theory.  See www.bravebooks.us.

Brain Food Education

Overall, online private schools offer a unique and flexible educational experience that can be a great fit for students and families who are seeking a personalized and effective approach to learning. With a wide range of courses and programs, as well as individualized support and guidance, online private schools provide students with the tools and resources they need to succeed and thrive.

Mankind’s Manifesto

Kids are called out in such a time as this we live in to come to the aid of mankind. Just as 8 yr old King Josiah did by overthrowing the channels of evil and killing in ancient Israel, our youth can be inspired to act justly and wisely in today’s corrupted world.

Control over the Curriculum

Brain Food Education

Another advantage of homeschooling is the control you have over the curriculum. You can choose the materials and resources that align with your family’s values and beliefs. You can also incorporate religious or cultural teachings that may not be included in traditional school curriculums.

One of the main reasons why parents choose to homeschool their children is the ability to have greater control over the curriculum. Homeschooling allows parents to tailor the education of their children to their specific needs, interests, and values. This level of control over the curriculum can be particularly important for families who have children with special needs, or who have unique educational goals.

Selective Courses To Enhance The Learning Experience

With homeschooling, parents have the ability to choose the curriculum that they believe will be most effective for their child’s learning style and interests. This can include a wide range of subjects, such as science, math, language arts, and social studies, as well as elective courses in areas like music, art, or foreign languages. Parents can also choose the specific textbooks and materials that they want their child to use, and can adjust the pace of learning to match their child’s abilities. Spiritual math explained.

Overall, homeschooling provides parents with a high degree of control over the curriculum, allowing them to create a customized and effective educational experience for their child. By tailoring the curriculum to their child’s needs and interests, parents can help to ensure that their child receives a high-quality education that is both engaging and effective.

Safe and Nurturing Learning Environment

Homeschooling provides a safe and nurturing learning environment for your child. You can ensure that your child is not exposed to negative influences, such as bullying or peer pressure. You can also provide one-on-one attention and support to your child, which can help build their confidence and self-esteem.

Another key advantage of homeschooling in a private online school environment is the ability to create a safe and nurturing learning environment. This can be especially important in creating a safe and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable and engaged. Homeschooling also provides families with greater control over their child’s social interactions and exposure to potentially negative influences. This can be particularly beneficial for students who may have experienced bullying or other social challenges in traditional school settings. By homeschooling in a private online school, families can foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages their child’s academic and personal growth.

More Quality Time with Family When You Are In An Online Private School Environment

Homeschooling allows you to spend more quality time with your family. You can create a flexible schedule that allows you to spend time with your children during the day. You can also involve your children in household chores or other activities that can help them develop life skills.

One of the key advantages of homeschooling in an online private school environment is the opportunity for more quality time with family. With traditional schools, parents and children are often separated for a significant portion of the day, which can result in limited time for family bonding and activities. However, with online private schools, students have the flexibility to learn at their own pace and on their own schedule, which can allow for more time to spend with family. This can result in stronger family relationships, increased communication, and more shared experiences and memories. One Inspiring Moment

From great work of classic masters we find the key to overcoming the “futile progress” of technology and find hope for personal and societal survival. Profoundly simple is the key: Holy Moments.

Finally, homeschooling can foster stronger family relationships and a deeper sense of community. Homeschooling provides opportunities for parents and children to work together, learn together, and form close bonds. This can help to strengthen the family unit and create a supportive and nurturing environment for children to grow and learn.

Overall, while homeschooling may not be the right choice for every family, there are many compelling reasons why it can be a great idea. From a more personalized and effective educational experience to a safer and more supportive learning environment, homeschooling offers many benefits that are worth considering for parents who are seeking a different approach to education.

Flexibility and Personalized Learning With Online Private School

One of the biggest benefits of homeschooling is the flexibility it offers. You can create a personalized learning plan that meets your child’s individual needs and interests. This means you can focus on subjects that your child is passionate about or that they need extra help with. You can also adjust the pace of learning to match your child’s learning style and abilities.

Online private schools offer a flexible and personalized learning experience that can be a great option for students and families who are looking for an alternative to traditional brick-and-mortar schools. With online private schools, students can work at their own pace and on their own schedule, allowing for greater flexibility and autonomy.

Overall, online private schools offer a unique and flexible educational experience that can be a great fit for students and families who are seeking a personalized and effective approach to learning. With a wide range of courses and programs, as well as individualized support and guidance, online private schools provide students with the tools and resources they need to succeed and thrive.

Control over the Curriculum

When families choose to homeschool, they have the freedom to select a curriculum that aligns with their values and priorities, allowing for a personalized and tailored educational experience.

Additionally, homeschooling in an online private school environment can provide opportunities for parents to take an active role in their child’s education, which can further strengthen family bonds and support academic success.

Like poetry, beauty if useful for pointing us to God and faith and improves ones life and thinking. Getting into flow is a major concept. Picture the flowing movement of a cat, “like a graceful vase a cat, even when motionless, seems to flow.” Make sure your stretch while at the computer. See some suggested stretches: https://www.crossthegap.org/pre-sport-stretches Some shape the world by force or argument. The napping cat just lies there dozing and the world quietly reshapes itself to suit his comfort and convenience. It is restful just to watch this. Robert Heinlein stated: “How we behave toward cats determines our status in heaven.”
